An Opening Prayer

I was asked to craft an opening prayer for our Called and Gifted luncheon where everyone shares their gifts with the group. With the prompting of the Holy Spirit, here is what

materialized:

Heavenly Father, we are so grateful for your never-ending presence in our lives; for the infinite love you shower upon us; for the sacrifice of your son so that we may have eternal life. As we gather together to celebrate your gifts breath your spirit upon us and into us. Give us the courage to explore and submit our will to yours. For, despite our human failings, we know you have created us for greatness beyond our the limits of our imagination. You truly are the King of Kings and the Master of our souls. As St Augustine said, "We do not rest until we rest in you, Oh Lord." Amen
