Song of a Mission Walk

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Here we go!

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

What a beautiful morning!

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Look up so as not to miss the beauty all around.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Is that a bald eagle? Yes, it is!

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

I need some motivational music. Dang, no cell service for Spotify.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Who is texting me? Don't they know I'm on a pilgrimage? Wait, why can I get a text but not Spotify?

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

There are some horses! Aren't you beautiful? Yes, you are!

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

I wonder what kind of tree that is.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Should have gotten a leaf of that tree. Someone knows what kind it is.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

The water in my pack feels heavier.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

"Total miles 6.0. Average pace 20 minutes. Split pace 22 minutes."

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Over halfway.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Better start looking for a hiding spot for a bio-break.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Slowing down, better take a break.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

How did I get sand inside my socks?

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Ok, I feel better. It got this

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Total miles 8.0. Average pace 23 miles. Split pace 28 minutes.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Who knew mandarin oranges could taste this good?

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Ohhh, I have a PB&J sandwich in my pack!

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

I don't know if I can do this.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Oh, thank goodness, someone to talk to.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

People are so fascinating!

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Total miles 11.0. Average pace 20 minutes. Split pace 21 minutes.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

I always walk faster when someone is beside me. I wonder why that is.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

I love listening and sharing stories. It makes the last miles go quickly.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Who needs Spotify?!

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

I'm feeling the blisters.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

Almost there.

Step, Step, Click, Clack.

I can see the end!

Step, Step.

I made it to the end. End of day one. Six more to go. God is good.

I took these pictures along the CA Mission Trail between Mission San Antonio de Padua, Mission Soledad, and Mission San Carlos Borromeo. For those who walk with hiking poles, hopefully, you recognize the click-clack that helps me keep pace as I walk.
